Zundt Design

Well, it's been a while since I last posted, but that is due to an extreme workload. I have been designing machine embroidery designs for Zundt Design of Switzerland. Urban Zundt and I have created two new collections that will be released next month. I have created the artwork and Urban has digitized the designs, then, I have created projects to go with each collection.  I have attached a sneak peak of the centre section of a quilt designed from our second collection.

We are publishing project books with each collection,  which contain 10 or more projects using the designs.
I will update more over the next couple of weeks.

Urban Zundt is coming to Australia in November and we will launch the new design collections while he is here. We will be hosting Trunk Shows across the country starting from Perth in the west and ending in Townsville, North Queensland.

Quota Quilt Fair

The Quota Quilt fair was held on the weekend in Maleny. I have a ttached a few pics of some of the stalls that were trading at the fair.

They are from top,
little beLLe dingle,
Quiltopia
Patchwork Angel
Kimz Sewing and Patchwork
Tracey Sims' Designs (me)

We all had lots of fun and the quilt display was fabulous. I have to thank the Quota ladies for a superb job, and the cakes were to die for!

A Mixed Bag

I picked up my book from the printers on Friday. It has been a long process, but finally it is here. All aspects of the book were completed  on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia. I am so happy with the final result. There are six bags in the book, two totes, two handbags and two evening bags. One has embroidery panels and three have been made using my Patchwork Prints.

Julia's Rose Quilt

Julia's Rose Quilt is done - finally. It was finished just in time for the the Maleny Quota Quilt Fair.

I just love the way the cream fabrics frame the feature block in the centre of the quilt, and the log cabin blocks in the corners create a wonderful tonal contrast.

It measures 48" square. The prints and pattern can be seen on my website.

Julia's Rose Quilt

Visit my website to see this and other patchwork prints.

My friend, and amazing quilter Cathy Hetzel has free motion stitched one of my 12" Julia's Rose patchwork prints for me to use as the centre piece for a quilt that I have designed.

The central petals of the rose, and the leaves are padded and it will make a spectacular focal point for the quilt. Watch this spot and over the next few weeks I will add progress pictures.

Week 1
Choosing the fabrics is always fun. For this quilt I wanted a colour value graduation to highlight the roses.

I also wanted a frame for the rose, that would enhance it and not compete with it. I chose strips of cream fabrics joined together as a subtle support.

This is the first layout for the quilt, but not the final one.I have moved things around a few times since I took this pic, and will update next week with the final layout.

Gympie Workshops

Recently I conducted a two day workshop for the Thursday Art Group at the Gympie Regional Gallery. We played with collage the first day, followed by floral painting the second. It was a wonderful group of ladies who were very enthusiastic and creative. Most Enjoyable.
